Welcome to LixCon - the delicious interpreter conference
LixCon is the first-ever conference dedicated to the Lix community and the Lix project. It's a space for people who are passionate about functional package management and want to dive deep into the future of Lix and its ecosystem.
Over the course of three days, LixCon will bring together contributors, implementers, and experienced minds to meet, collaborate, and share ideas. One of the key features of the event is providing plenty of room for hands-on work and impromptu discussions. Whether you're hacking on a project, brainstorming, or just chatting with others, there will be spaces for it all.
The first day will include regular presentations, filmed and available for later viewing (for those who consent), but we'll also have an unconference-style format to leave space for spontaneous topics and deep dives. After that, the focus will shift to working together and exploring ideas in depth.
LixCon won't offer full catering, but we will have drink and snack stations set up in the hacking rooms to keep you fueled and refreshed as you work. Obviously, Internet and power will be provided. Ice cream MAY be provided.
Some of the topics to hear about include:
- What is beyond Nix as a language ?
- What should be done about Flakes ?
We're also excited to invite other implementations of the "Nix idea" and related projects to join us, like zb, Elpe, and Guix to share their ideas and concepts.
If you work on projects that interact with Lix in a big way, such as large-scale CI systems (like Hydra), deep build system integrations (such as buck2 or bazel), SBOM/querying, or LSP tools, we'd love to have you there to shape the future of Lix with us.
Come for the hacking, stay for the conversations, and help us make Lix and the community better together.
The call for papers will be announced soon.
